To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA) is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire, and also invest directly into treatment and recovery.
While I was the communication manager at TWLOHA, I oversaw interactions with nearly 2 million followers and fans on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. In my first two months with the organization, I helped lead two major campaigns, bringing in over $80,000 for treatment and recovery programs, 10,000 new followers, and expanded our reach to nearly 4 million people.
I’m most proud of implementing the practice of including “Find Help” resources with all shipments of merchandise, putting mental health resources in the hands of hundreds of people every week.
I also helped the organization see the value of sending monthly emails that provided hopeful resources and sales to the 100,000+ subscribers in our email database. With a majority of our emails being opened on mobile devices, planning emails that are just as effective on mobile as they are on desktop computers was a unique challenge.
